Act II, Scene-I Detailed Summary of Hamlet: "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare


This is Elsinore. Here Reynaldo and Polonius are discussing. Polonius is sending Reynaldo to Paris to spy on his son and acquaint him of the deeds he is inclined to in Paris. Reynaldo is given the charge to play according to the situation but Polonius also wants him not to create any scandal for his son. After Reynaldo is gone, enters Ophelia. She looks disturbed. She tells her father how Hamlet entered her room in a very shabby and upset:

"I did repel his letters and denied
His access to me."

He held her wrist and looked mad. Reynaldo decides to approach the king.
